The first official Variety Golf event of the year was played at The Grove on the 18th March for my 10th Jamie’s Charity Pro-Am. The sun was shining, the course was in superb condition and a great day was had by all.

We had 28 teams playing, with each team accompanied by a European Tour professional, and I had some old friends from the Tour playing such as David Howell, Richard McEvoy, Philip Golding, Scott Drummond and many more. The scoring was very competitive and please cast an eye on the Pro’s individual leader board:

There was plenty of fundraising on the day too, with a Holiday to Monte Rei which was won by Variety member David Law on the 4th hole, a raffle, silent auction and we even had the Prime Minister – Boris Johnson perform the Live Auction for us (AKA Mike Osman) and a grand total of £21,000 was raised on the day and more importantly we presented the Sunshine Coach #2 of 2022 to the Trinity Special Needs School based in Dagenham. I am delighted to say that a grand total over the 10 years of running this event, I have raised just over £200,000 for Charity, so a big thankyou to everybody who has supported it.
