Well, what can I say? It’s been a long winter and, finally, there is some hope and excitement to look forward to when the golf courses re-open for the first time in three months on March 29th!
After Boris’s announcement last week, we unfortunately had to make some changes to the early part of our original 2021 schedule. Some courses understandably have decided to look after their members first before allowing outside Golf Days, so some venues (such as Walton Heath and Swinley Forest) wanted to move our events back as late as November – and even into next year – so I was faced with a tricky challenge to, on the one hand, try to keep the standard of courses as high as possible but, at the same time, ensure a full schedule of events at courses which were not only able to accommodate us, but also provide the level of hospitality we require.
Therefore, I am pleased to confirm that just two weeks after the golf courses open again on the 15thApril, our Variety Golf season will start at the charming James Braid designed course at Croham Hurst in Croydon.
I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to all our current sponsors who have continued their support for this year to ensure we can get back to raising funds to support disabled and disadvantaged children all around the UK. This year our aim is to present around twenty Sunshine Coaches to these Schools who so desperately need our help.
I fully expect the first few events to be extremely popular and very well supported so to ensure you don’t miss out, please get in touch if you would like to enter. I’m certain they will all be a SELL OUT!
