When you can’t play golf, the next best thing is to talk about it!

So it was that on Wednesday, February 24th, more than fifty members joined in a specially arranged Zoom event when Variety Golf’s Director of Golf, Jamie Little, quizzed renowned caddie, Terry Mundy, about his experiences caddying for some of the greats.

Terry caddied on the European Tour for a number of players before eventually meeting up with Ian Poulter in 2006. He has since caddied for Ian Poulter for fifteen years and is still going strong! He has caddied in five Ryder Cups for Poulter and they have had eight worldwide wins together on both the European and PGA Tour.

Previously, Terry caddied for Dame Laura Davies for seven years sharing eleven worldwide wins, as well as for Alison Nicholas and Trish Johnson. He appeared in five Solheim Cups. Terry was a good golfer in his own right playing off three.

The event was hugely entertaining as Terry regaled members with tales of memorable rounds, including two occasions when he persuaded his players to stay and compete when they had already made up their minds to go home. In both instances they went on to win!

A further Zoom event with Ryder Cup player, Jamie Donaldson, will take place on Wednesday March 3rd.
